This morning’s basketball game between the undefeated NU Lady Bulldogs and the UE Lady Warriors was stopped and postponed to a later date due to a dangerously slick playing surface at the Blue Eagle Gym. After discovering the early Manila rain had left a watery sheen on the court, UAAP officials delayed the original 9am tip-off by an hour in an attempt to salvage the contest. However, the hour-long wait and last-ditch mopping barely improved the playing condition of the hardwood.
Within the first belated minute of the game, the Lady Warriors turned over the ball due to a player slipping on a drive. By just the second minute of the first salvo, the officials decided to cancel the match in the name of player safety and move the engagement to a later date.
