Shower of prayers for The Skywalker: PBA legend hospitalized, in coma

People from all walks of life turned to Twitter to pour in their support and prayers for ‘The Skywalker’ Samboy Lim, who collapsed during practice of the PBA Legends, who were bound to play a series of games overseas next week.

“Prayers for the Skywalker. Changed the way basketball was played in the country #samboy #coma,” posted Senator Sonny Angara, who grew up idolizing Lim when he was still playing for the Northern Consolidated and San Miguel Beer.

Tim Cone, who coached against the high-flying ex-Beerman for several years, considered him as one of the toughest to guard.

“One of the true great ones!! And most impossible to guard. Get well, Samboy!!,” wrote Cone.
“Samboy “The Skywalker” Lim just collapsed after coming out of an exhibition game! Pls pray for Samboy! #PrayersForSamboy @pbaconnect,” posted Vince Hizon.

Lim is currently in the ICU of The Medical City after collapsing during the practice session of the PBA Legends game, which was scheduled to play in Riyadh next week.

One of the league’s 25 Greatest Players in PBA history, Lim is considered by many as the best player never to win an MVP award as his career was shortened by injuries.
Until now, Lim is still in comatose as fellow legends held a vigil.
