Shaq Delos Santos to steer Cignal in PVL debut

Decorated head coach Shaq Delos Santos has finally been appointed as the head coach of Cignal.

The four-time PSL champion coach will be the man guiding the HD Spikers in their pro debut in the PVL beginning on May 8 at INSPIRE Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna.

Delos Santos was the chief tactician of Petron from 2016-19. He led the Blaze Spikers to the 2017 All-Filipino, 2018 Grand Prix and All-Filipino, and 2019 Grand Prix titles.

However, the UST and FEU head coach was let go of the team before the 2020 PSL Season began. Cignal then hired him as Edgar Barroga’s lead assistant.

The team did not renew Barroga back in June of 2020.

The HD Spikers are coming off a finals appearance in the 2019 All-Filipino conference.

Delos Santos has the task of leading a squad bannered by Rachel Daquis, Alohi Robins-Hardy, and Jheck Dionela.
