Now a game behind in the 2018 Chooks to Go-Philippine Superliga Invitational Cup Finals, Petron’s Shaq Delos Santos says his team is still confident and in high spirits.
Leading 2-1 in Game One, the Blaze Spikers allowed the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers to crawl back and snatch the series lead.
Still, an upbeat Delos Santos approached the media, expressing nothing but confidence in his team for Game Two on Saturday.
“For me, proud pa rin ako sa team ko kasi siyempre alam naman namin yung quality ng laro ng kalaban namin and binigay pa rin namin yung best namin,” said the former FEU Tamaraw.
“Saka sabi nga namin kanina ganoon talaga. Sa nilaro namin kanina talagang may mananalo at may matatalo. So for us, kailangan naming tanggapin kung ano ‘yung nangyari para mas maging mature kami and makapag-ready para sa susunod naming game.”
Having faced F2 Logistics in the past three Finals, Delos Santos knows that character – not skills – will win this title.
“‘Yung ilalaro every game kasi di mo na masasabi yan kung talagang maco-control mo. Definitely hindi na basta magiging easy game. Talagang mag-all out,” he declared.
“I think yung puso, yung pride, saka yung eagerness mo na manalo, ‘yun ‘yung pag-uusapan.”
