SF State’s Miguel Yniguez joins UP in Pinoyliga

There were a couple of new faces for University of the Philippines when it took on Emilio Aguinaldo College in the 2023 Pinoyliga Collegiate Cup at Enderun Colleges on Sunday.

Former University of the East big man Gani Stevens made his Fighting Maroons debut in the contest.

Also playing for UP was one Miguel Yniguez, who just wanted to get a feel of the team.

Yniguez, who stands at 6-foot-5, is studying at and playing for NCAA Division II school San Francisco State.

He only played one game for the Gators last season.

According to UP sources, Yniguez has yet to fully commit to UP as he is still pondering a return to the US.

With Miguel in the country is his father Michael.

If Miguel decides to go to UP, he will have to sit out one year before being eligible for UAAP Season 87.
