Aleah Finnegan continues to impress in her debut for the Philippines.
The 19-year-old Fil-American gymnast captured her first-ever individual gold for the country with a solid 13.133 finish on vault at the 31st Southeast Asian Games, Sunday at the Quan Ngua Sports Palace in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Finnegan missed on a double gold the other day as she ended with the silver in the all-around with 49.250, just 0.400 behind Indonesia’s Rifda Irfanaluthi’s 49.650. She, however, bagged the gold for the team competition.
Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu dislodged Irfanaluthi in second place with a 13.033 for the silver, as the individual all-around champion scored 12.817 for the bronze.
Lucia Mari Manzano ended in fifth for the Philippines with 12.150.
Finnegan, though, missed the podium in the uneven bars and ended in fifth place with 11.100, while Lucia Gabriel Guttierez finished last in the eight-woman field with 10.333.
