Scottie Thompson out for rest of Lithuania camp due to injury

Gilas Pilipinas has lost one of its top floor generals for the rest of their camp in Kaunas, Lithuania.

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas announced on Thursday afternoon that Scottie Thompson suffered a metacarpal fracture in his right hand during the team’s practice the other day.

It is expected that Thompson will need three to four weeks to recover from such injury before he can work out again.

The 6-foot-1 guard out of Davao played six games in the Asian Qualifiers. There, he averaged 6.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.0 steals per contest.

This is a huge downer for Gilas who only have 13 players in Lithuania.

Other guards who have yet to join Gilas are Bobby Ray Parks Jr., Jordan Heading, Roger Pogoy, and Jordan Clarkson.
