The much-anticipated showdown between arch-rivals Gilas Pilipinas and South Korea will take place on primetime.
In the schedule released by FIBA Asia for the Qatar window of the Qualifiers, the Philippines-Korea games on February 18 and 22 are scheduled to take place at 10:00PM (Manila time).
On the other hand, Gilas’ February 19 tilt versus Indonesia will have a tip-off time of 4:00PM.
Gilas have yet to beat Korea since the 2013 FIBA Asia Cup.
The Philippines lost to South Korea in the 2014 Asian Games, 95-97, and in the 2018 edition of the continental meet, 82-91.
During the quarterfinals of the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup, the Philippines bowed to Korea anew, 86-118.
Gilas also lost both of their meetings with the Koreans during the 2015 and 2017 Jones Cups.
In other Group A games, Korea faces Thailand on the 19th at 8:30PM; Thailand squares off against Korea on the 20th at 7:00PM; and Indonesia takes on Thailand on the 22nd at 1:00AM (23rd in Manila).
Gilas sit on top of the group with a perfect 3-0 slate.
