Savouge cruises past ProVolley in straight sets to stay undefeated in ST semis

Savouge Aesthetics maintained its strong start, dominating ProVolley Academy of Australia in straight sets, 25-15, 25-13, 25-19, in the 2025 Spikers’ Turf Invitational Conference on Saturday afternoon at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.

The Spin Doctors used a varied offensive combination, led by JC Enarciso, to counter the tall and athletic Australian side, improving to a 2-0 record in the round-robin semifinals of the tournament organized by Sports Vision.

“Sabi ko naman sa kanila, as you can see more combination plays ‘yung ginamit namin today. Kasi in terms of height, medyo lugi talaga kami kaya sabi ko fast plays, combination plays. So happy naman ako sa result,” said Savouge head coach Sydney Calderon.

“Pero ‘yun nga, ‘di ako happy masyado sa third set namin na sana mas maganda pa sana ‘yung ginawa namin, kaso medyo bumaba ‘yung laro ng team ko sa third set.”

Enarciso delivered 14 excellent sets and added two points, orchestrating a balanced offensive attack that kept ProVolley Academy guessing throughout the quick, one-hour and 14-minute match.

Hero Austria, despite playing only in the third set, led the Spin Doctors in scoring with nine points, while Shawie Caritativo, Mark Calado, Renzel Antonio, and Daniel Nicolas contributed six points each.

This marks the team’s second consecutive win in the semifinals, following a hard-fought 25-27, 25-16, 25-22, 25-21 victory over University of Santo Tomas-Gameville yesterday, opening the semis of the tournament supported by Alpha Insurance, Premiere EMS, Buffalo’s Wings N’ Things, Arena Plus, and Black Mamba.

Savouge will face defending champion Cignal next on Monday at 3:00 PM, in a crucial stretch that also features unbeaten Criss Cross and Japanese squad Kindai University.
