Savi Davison builds instant connection with Rhea Dimaculangan


If fitting into PLDT were based on her performances, Savannah Davison has fully adjusted in her new home.

The Fil-Canadian spiker credited her connection to the High Speed Hitters setter, Rhea Dimaculangan, for her seamless adjustment.

Davison emerged as PLDT’s highest scorer for the third straight time in the Premier Volleyball League Second All-Filipino Conference, resulting in a 2-1 record.

“She’s my go-to in practice and during the games,” said Davison of Dimaculangan.

The 24-year-old spiker out of Oklahoma University delivered a game-high 18 points spread through 13 spikes, three aces, and two blocks in their 25-17, 25-17, 25-20 win over Farm Fresh on Tuesday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

“I make sure I come up to her every day and just talk to her a little bit. She’s just an overall great person, and that makes it so much easier to have her as a teammate and makes it so much easier to have her on my side,” continued Davison.

Dimaculangan shared that it was Davison who keyed PLDT’s back-to-back wins after losing its opener against Cignal.

The High Speed Hitters then beat Akari in straight sets, followed by this victory against the Foxies.

“Siguro sa ngayon, na-improve na namin yung mga lapses namin nung first game, and I think nakukuha na ni Savie yung system ng team at ni coach. Sana magtuluy-tuloy,” said the veteran playmaker.

“Actually, si Savi yung teammate na hindi mahirap pakisamahan. Sobrang bait at parehas kami nag-aadjust, so kahit papano nagkoconnect na kaming dalawa.”

Davison and Dimaculangan’s partnership will be put to the test anew a week later when PLDT meets NXLED on November 2.
