San Miguel Alab suffer crushing loss to Singapore in ABL

San Miguel Alab Pilipinas could not replicate their big home win over Singapore last December 16, suffering a crushing 64-85 beatdown at the OCBC Arena, Sunday.

Just like in their game against Macau last Sunday, Sam Deguara was one again in foul trouble, leaving undersized big Lawrence Domingo to man the paint once more.

Slingers imports Anthony McCain and Xavier Alexander then took advantage of this.

McCain had 18 points, 13 rebounds, and seven blocks. Alexander scattered 31 points, 12 assists, 10 boards, and eight steals.

Meanwhile, Marcus Elliott added 19 points spiked by five triples.

Singapore led 42-33 at the half before extending the lead to 32 points, 79-47, with 6:34 left in the game.

Deguara still led Alab with 14 points and nine rebounds. Nick King had nine points, but shot just 4-of-13 from the field.

Alab turned the ball over 15 times that led to 24 Singapore points.

The San Miguel-backed squad, who fell to 5-3, will next face Hong Kong Eastern on January 23.

The Scores:

San Miguel Alab 64 — Deguara 14, King 9, Gray 9, Brickman 8, Wyatt 7, Vigil 5, Heading 3, Ganuelas-Rosser 3, Caracut 2, Domingo 2, Rangel 2.
