San Beda’s Adeogun suspended for one game

San Beda College Red Lion has been suspended for one game due to a unsportsmanlike act he did last Tuesday in SBC’s loss to the Arellano University Chiefs.

The incident occurred during last Tuesday’s game between the Red Lions and the Chiefs. Prior to the halftime mark of the game, Adeogun was called for an offensive foul for an inadvertent elbow on an Arellano defender. The temperamental center was infuriated with the call and was called to the bench by head coach Jamike Jarin. A no-call on his teammate with seconds to go in the second quarter further angered the big man.

Adeogun then stormed off the bench and headed to the locker room. Furious with the officiating, the fifth-year player kicked the window pane of the door of their locker room.

The damage done by Adeogun

During the start of the third quarter of the game, the Filoil Flying V management, the operators of the Arena, called on San Beda team manager Jude Roque to discuss the matter. Both Filoil and San Beda agreed to pay the damages done to the Filoil Property.

Early Monday morning, the NCAA management committee also penalized Adeogun with a one game suspension. The suspension will take effect tomorrow, August 25 during San Beda’s game against the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals. EAC has yet to beat the Red Lions since their entrance to the NCAA in 2009.

Ola Adeogun is currently averaging 16.5 PPG on 69% shooting and 9.25 RPG in 16.5 MPG of action.
