The arms race for NCAA’s centennial season continues to heat up.
This time around, San Beda University scored the transfer of a sharpshooting winger and a big man.
Centro Escolar University’s Ronrei Tolentino and Far Eastern University’s Menard Songcuya are moving to Mendiola.
The two are welcome additions to the Red Lions, according to head coach Yuri Escueta after getting a chance to handle the two in Asiabasket.
Tolentino is a 6-foot-3 Ilonggo winger who averaged 9.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.7 steals during the PG Flex-UCBL tournament last year.
Meanwhile, Songcuya, a product of the NUNS program, stands at 6-foot-5 and is a perfect complement to another transferee in Joe Celzo.
Tolentino averaged 6.8 points and 7.2 rebounds during the Las Pinas Championship while Songcuya normed 3.6 points and 2.6 boards.
Besides Tolentino, Songcuya, and Celzo, also getting ready for Season 100 are the Calimag brothers, Bryan Sajonia, and Bismarck Lina.
