Roosevelt Adams would undoubtedly want to be with his wife Adeline to celebrate their first wedding anniversary.
Unfortunately, they’re now miles apart from one another. The Terra Firma rookie is inside the PBA bubble at the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga.
Their anniversary fell on the day Asia’s pioneering pro league reopened its pandemic-interrupted Season 45 after seven months of stoppage.
“It sucks that I’m in the bubble and she’s in Manila,” lamented the Filipino-American wingman, who was the first overall pick in the 2019 PBA Regular Draft.
But as bummed as he feels, Adams is immensely grateful for the love and support his wife is giving him — even if they will be apart for at least a month.
According to him, his long-time sweetheart opted to stay in Manila instead of flying back to the States to avoid time differences while watching his games.
“She wants to stay in Manila and not go home because she wants to watch my games,” the College of Idaho product said.
“She’s a big supporter of mine. She does not know how grateful I am for her for that.”
So with that, the 26-year-old is dedicating his rookie season to her. And he vowed that he’ll make it up to her next time.
“I just want to play every game for her because of all the sacrifices she’s done for me. I’ll dedicate this for her,” he said.
“Happy Anniversary to my wife. Sorry I can’t be there, but I’ll make up for it next year.”
Adams and the Dyip will make their debut on Tuesday, Oct. 13, versus the star-studded TNT Tropang GIGA.
