After a nine-month layoff, Rolando Dy returns to the cage.
This time around, the second generation fighter will square off against Maciek Gierszewski in Bahrain for BRAVE 42 on September 24.
Dy, who is 12-9 in his prizefighting career, is coming off two straight losses — bowing to Do Gyeom Lee back in October 18 before falling to Anzor Abdulkhozhaev last December 27.
The 29-year-old though did not figure in a proper training camp for this bout against the 7-5 Irish due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“This is the first time in my fighting career that I never did hard sparring for the fight preparation,” shared Dy.
“It’s hard to prepare for fights during a pandemic but it is what it is. Adjust and adapt.”
Dy’s opponent is coming off a TKO win over Bogdan Suru last July 27.
