Short notice? No problem for Rolando Dy.
The enigmatic Filipino fighter scratched and clawed his way to a hard-earned split decision win over Maciek Gierszewski during BRAVE CF 42 in Bahrain, Thursday evening (Manila time).
The win snapped Dy’s two-fight skid — both of which coming off knockouts — to raise his slate to 13-9.
And as he had his hand raised, the 29-year-old who had the Philippine flag draped around him crumbled to his knees.
‘’I never say no to anyone, I’m always ready to fight, even on short notice,” said four-fight UFC veteran.
“BRAVE Nation knows that. I’m ready.”
Dy was aggressive to start the bout, shooting for takedowns on Gierszewski. Despite not getting his opponent down, he would throw small jabs and leg kicks to stave off his much-larger opponent.
Though his Polish foe had a strong second round, Dy stormed right back with a strong third canto that earned the nod of the majority of the judges.
Gierszewski, on the other hand, dropped to 7-6.
