Roi Sumang will not be suiting up for NLEX.
The sixth-year pro will be joining Nueva Ecija in the upcoming 2021 Chooks-to-Go MPBL Invitational Tournament set from December 11-23 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
And Sumang will look to shake off some rust in the buildup to the tournament that has P2,000,000 at stake.
The 30-year-old native of Tondo last played a PBA game back in the 2020 Philippine Cup for Blackwater.
Sumang averaged 10.36 points, 4.27 assists, and 4.27 rebounds per game that season.
However, Sumang, along with Maurice Shaw, was traded to NLEX in a three-team trade with TNT last March 11.
Sumang did not play a single game for NLEX.
Sumang joins a loaded Rice Vanguards team that also has PJ Simon, Marc Pingris, Justin Gutang, Will Gozum, Michael Mabulac, and Diego Dario.
Completing Nueva Ecija are Bobby Balucanag, Chris Bitoon, Ael Banal, Renz Palma, JP Sarao, and Byron Villarias.
Nueva Ecija is slotted with San Juan, Sarangani, Val City, and Muntinlupa in Pool C.
