After a sensational first game, all eyes were on Robert Bolick on Sunday evening.
During his PBA debut, the 2017 Collegiate Basketball Player of the Year went berserk, dropping 26 points to lead NorthPort to a dominant 117-91 victory over Blackwater.
In his second game, however, there was a drop off. The 6-foot-1 combo guard still managed 14 points, but was forced to seven errors.
For the third overall pick in the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft, games like this are part of his learning process.
“Nakikita ko na yung ibang klaseng depensa dito na kailangan kong matutunan,” shared the 23-year-old product of San Beda.
“Naging happy naman ako sa mga mali ko. Tuwing nagkakamali ako, madami akong natututunan. ‘Yun ang importante.”
Still, it did not let his confidence down, as Bolick did the little things that helped Northport notch their second win – a 95-90 victory over NLEX.
“As long as nandiyan siya, steady siya. Meron naman siyang mga x-factor na ginagawa eh. Naga-assist siya, he’s defending. May mga crucial na shot, ‘di ba kanina may fade-away shot siya, may three-points pa,” said NorthPort head coach Pido Jarencio.
“Matibay yung bata, talagang wala ka ng masabi.”
“Ready naman ako lagi pag ganoong moment eh. ‘Pag ganoon, ready lang parati,” added Bolick as he scored six points in the final frame.
And Bolick is just glad that he remains unbeaten in his career as a pro.
“The more na nagkakamali ako, the more na natututo ako. Ang pinaka-importante ay natuto and nanalo kami,” the four-time collegiate champion shared.
“‘Pag nanalo, masaya ang lahat!”
