Pido Jarencio set for UST return

A University of Santo Tomas legend is set for a return to his alma mater.

In a report by Tempo, current Northport team manager Pido Jarencio is set to be named as head coach of the Growling Tigers, making his return to the school after nine years.

Back in UAAP Season 69, Jarencio steered the Growling Tigers to the top of collegiate basketball, giving the school its 18th championship.Pido-Jarencio Pido Jarencio set for UST return Basketball News UAAP UST - philippine sports news

Jarencio would spend the next eight years with UST, again guiding the school in the finals during Season 75.

After Season 76, Jarencio was handed the reins of leading Northport.

Jarencio was eventually bumped to a managerial position with the Batang Pier last month.

During his time at UST, Coach Pido lived by the mantra “puso, pride, palaban.”

Now, he hopes that those three Ps will still be effective in the modern game.

Jarencio inherits a UST team that is coming off a 1-13 finish last season.
