After a decade as head coach of Far Eastern University’s men’s volleyball team, Rei Diaz has decided to come back home.
Diaz has stepped down from his post as head coach of the Tamaraws.
The school made the announcement on Saturday, citing the need for Diaz to give back to his hometown of Bataan.
Replacing Diaz is his lead assistant Eddieson Orcullo.
Diaz was named head coach of FEU back in UAAP Season 77.
During his time as head coach, he compiled a record of 54-38 record, including a finals appearance in UAAP Season 81.
Last season, FEU finished in third place, bowing to University of Santo Tomas in the stepladder semifinals.
Diaz was also the former head coach of defunct PVL club Perlas.
Orcullo, a former head coach of also-defunct PVL club Sta. Lucia, will now be tasked to continue the Final Four finishes of FEU that began in UAAP Season 79.
