Red Cubs Nathan Victoria, Mowell Morales commit to CSB

College of Saint Benilde has gained the commitments of two prospects.

Former San Beda Red Cubs Nathan Victoria and Mowell Morales have committed to enroll at CSB.

For the two 18-year-old prospects, joining the Blazers is a dream come true for them.

“Well, Benilde has shown interest in me as a player so I’ve always been inclined to play for the school,” said Nathan, a 6-foot-2 point guard, who is the son of former PBA pro Boybits.

“I felt like that Benilde would give me the best opportunity to be able to grow and improve as a person and a basketball player.”

“Gusto ko po yung CSB because magandang school po siya. Hindi lang po sa basketball, pero pati sa academics din po,” said Morales, a 6-foot-5 big man.

Both Victoria and Morales are part of the Red Cubs program.

Victoria was part of the NCAA Season 94 and 95 team and graduated last year. Morales, meanwhile, is set to graduate next year.

The Blazers are coming off a second-place finish in Season 98. And they feel excited to help continue their run come next season.

“I’m very excited to be in a position to contribute and play for a team that’s fresh off a championship run,” said Victoria, who is the Finals MVP in the Pilipinas Amateur Basketball League and regular season and finals MVP in the Up Next League.

“Excited po ako sobra, pero its up to coach Charles [Tiu] if he thinks I’m ready na,” expressed Morales.

“Hindi naman po ako nagmamadali kasi rookie pa lang din naman ako. Ang maganda po is nasa CSB na ako.”

For Victoria, he hopes that other Red Cubs also join them in Benilde.

“I’ll be happy if other Red Cubs followed me to Benilde, but I’m satisfied with whoever I get to play with in Benilde, especially if it means winning a championship.”
