Dwight Ramos and Toyama were overwhelmed by defending B.League champion Chiba, bowing 64-105, Wednesday at Funabashi Arena.
The Jets’ dynamic duo of Josh Duncan and Yuki Togashi led the rout right from the get-go, scoring 11 and 10 points respectively in the opening frame to give Chiba an imposing 27-14 lead.
The struggling Grouses could not recover from there as the lead would remain in double-digits for the rest of the game.
Chiba, who went up to 18-6, shot a whopping 60 percent from the field, including 14-of-27 from downtown.
Duncan had 24 points, seven rebounds, and four assists for Chiba while Togashi got 19 points built on three treys with seven assists and two steals.
John Mooney notched a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds while Christopher Smith and Raita Akaho got 13 points each. Takuma Sato also had 12 points for the Jets.
Toyama fell to 8-16, losing four of their last five games.
Joshua Smith got 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Grouses while Julian Mavunga added 11 points.
Ramos was limited to just two points, going 0-of-3 from the field, with a rebound.
Ramos and Toyama will next face Hiroshima on January 1 and 2 at F-pico Arena.
