Ramil De Jesus pretty much got everyone he wished for
After holding two national team tryouts over the past six days, the decorated mentor expressed his delight with the commitment shown by the aspirants.
Eighteen players attended the first tryouts last Friday, while 21 graced the second tryout on Wednesday evening, which De Jesus indicated was for those who could not attend the Friday practice.
“Well itong second day naman para sa kanila naman talaga ‘to.
“Nung first day kasi nagsabi naman sila na meron silang mga commitment sa mother team nila. Well in-expect ko naman na darating yung iba pero yung iba talaga hindi makaalis at may commitment pa,” he said.
The architect of the De La Salle University Lady Spikers program also shared that there are several other players who expressed their commitment, but were unable to attend the tryouts due to the crucial stretch in both the UAAP and PSL season.
While he and the Larong Volleyball ng Pilipinas Inc. have yet to talk about the next phase of the program or if they will hold another set of tryouts, De Jesus was glad to receive support from all fronts of the volleyball community.
“Happy ako kasi nagpakita sila ng interes although hindi sila kasama sa masterlist. Natutuwa ako kasi nagpakita sila ng interes,” said the 2005 bronze medalist.
“Sabi ko nga mahirap kasing mag-set ng tryout lalo na kung on-going yung tournaments. Mahirap makaalis dun sa training nila. And yung preparation sa mga leagues.”
