PVL semis moved to August 31 due to power outage at Philsports

The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) has announced a postponement of the 2024 Reinforced Conference semifinals, which were originally set for Thursday, August 29, at the Philsports Arena.

This decision comes as a response to a power outage in the area caused by severe weather conditions over the past few days.

Heavy rains have resulted in significant damage to Meralco power posts, leading to an interruption in electricity supply to the Philsports Arena. As a result, the venue has been deemed inoperable for the scheduled semifinals.

The Akari-PLDT and Cignal-Creamline tiffs will now take place on Saturday, August 31, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The 2024 Reinforced Conference Final, previously slated for the same week, is rescheduled to Monday, September 2, at the SMART Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

For fans who purchased tickets for the original date, all purchases will be automatically refunded. The refund will be processed to the original payment method, whether it is a bank account, credit card, or e-wallet.

The PVL extends its sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by this change and appreciates the understanding and patience of everyone affected.

The league is committed to ensuring a secure and enjoyable environment for its events and is working diligently to facilitate a smooth transition to the new venue and dates.
