PVL: Louie Romero steers Farm Fresh to first-ever win, sweeps Gerflor

Farm Fresh finally scored its breakthrough victory in the Premier Volleyball League after eliminating Gerflor, 25-17, 25-17, 25-15, to snap its 12-game losing streak in the Second All-Filipino Conference, Tuesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The also-ran Foxies, who now hold a 1-7 record, dropped all of its five games in its maiden campaign in the Invitational Conference before losing its first seven matches in the season-ending conference.

Ayun lang,” said Farm Fresh team captain Louie Romero.

After taking the first two sets, the Foxies went on a blazing 16-4 start anchored by middle blocker Camill Avila which ultimately took out the Defenders in the match, which lasted for 71 minutes.

Kate Santiago top scored for Farm Fresh with 18 big points on 18 attacks to go along with five excellent receptions.

Tubu, despite sitting out the third set, managed to get nine points while Rizza Cruz and Avila, who only subbed in in the final frame, chipped in six points each.
