F2 Logistics handed Cignal its fourth loss after a three-set beating, 25-23, 25-20, 25-23 to force a tie at the top spot of the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-FIlipino Conference, Saturday at the Philsports Arena.
Dy, who only had 11 points in their recent five-set win over Creamline, unloaded 22 points along with seven excellent digs as the Cargo Movers tied the Cool Smashers at the top spot with identical 4-1 win-loss records.
Aby Marano added 14 points built on seven huge blocks, six attacks, and an ace in the victory.
F2 Logistics was already ahead by two points, 22-20, late in the third frame before the HD Spikers threatened to extend the game by banking on the Cargo Movers’ two consecutive errors capped off by a Chin Basas crosscourt hit which put them ahead by one.
Dy stepped up from there and cashed in on two attacks to push her side at match point while Cha Behag hammered one off a misreceive to finish the game in an hour and 47 minutes.
“Ito naman yung goal namin e, yung mas mabilis makatapos ng game and mas mag-dominate ng game. So I think we’re on the right track and hopefully mag-sunud sunod pa yung wins namin,” said F2 Logistics head coach Regine Diego.
Kim Fajardo tossed 16 excellent sets while Dawn Macandili gathered 31 excellent digs and 11 excellent receptions for the Cargo Movers.
Rose Doria paced the 1-4 HD Spikers with nine points while Ria Meneses had eight points. Basas and Chai Troncoso added seven markers each in the loss.
F2 Logistics looks to make it three straight wins against Petro Gazz on Thursday, 6:30 PM while Cignal will face Choco Mucho earlier that day at 4:00 PM at the same venue.
