PVL: F2 trumps Galeries in 3, forges four-way tie at 4th

CANDON, ILOCOS SUR — F2 Logistics secured its second consecutive win in an out-of-town game, leaving Galeries Tower winless with a score of 25-15, 25-22, 25-17 in the Premier Volleyball League Second All-Filipino Conference, held on Saturday at the Candon City Arena here.

The Cargo Movers successfully thwarted every Highraisers rally, including an error-plagued second set. They emerged victorious after an hour and 29 minutes of action.

They are now in a four-way tie for the fourth spot with PLDT, Chery Tiggo, and Choco Mucho, all of whom have identical 2-1 records.

F2 Logistics head coach Regine Diego commented on the match, saying, “We need to make points and for you to make points, you have to make errors. You cannot be attacking and be perfect about it.

“If you’re hitting hard, you have more chances of errors so okay na pumupuntos sila. Well, may errors, pero ganun talaga eh. We just have to… Kailangan naming gamutin yun.”

Coming off a morale-boosting sweep of Nxled in Antipolo, the Cargo Movers demonstrated their strength early against the Highraisers.

They quickly built an 18-6 lead in the first set through the collective efforts of Majoy Baron, Ivy Lacsina, and Kim Fajardo.

F2 Logistics showcased its excellent floor defense, limiting Galeries to just two attack points in that period.

However, they needed to withstand a late rally from the Highrisers to secure a 1-0 lead.

In the second set, the Cargo Movers repelled a late surge by the hard-fighting Highrisers before establishing an early lead in the third.

They reached an 11-point advantage at 15-4, on their way to a second consecutive victory.

“Hopefully dahil sa mga laro na ‘to experience-wise, mas magkaroon sila ng connection, mas ma-perfect nila yung system, so yun lang naman yung kinukuha namin every game. We don’t want perfect muna, we just want them to be connected,” added Diego.
