PVL: Chery Tiggo crashes F2 Logistics for share of lead

In a battle of unbeaten squads, Chery Tiggo flattened F2 Logistics in a surprise sweep, 25-19, 25-14, 25-16, to chalk up its third consecutive win to start the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference, Thursday at the Philsports Arena.

Mylene Paat once again delivered for the surging Crossovers, uncorking 22 points on 20 attacks, an ace, and a block in just an hour and 29 minutes of action to help her side tie Creamline at the top spot with identical 3-0 records.

Shaya Adorador fired 13 points, all from attacks, laced with six excellent receptions while EJ Laure added 12 points and 15 excellent digs. Cza Carandang had 10 markers.

Alina Bicar, meanwhile, steered the offense with 20 excellent sets to go along with three points while Buding Duremdes collected 25 digs and 13 receptions.

“I’m so proud of the ladies, how they really worked hard. Wala kang mapi-pinpoint talaga e kasi yung puso na binigay ng mga players ngayon talagang inalay nila sa isa’t isa,” said Chery Tiggo head coach Aaron Velez.

“We know for a fact that F2 is not an easy team [to beat] kasi lahat naman ng mga kupunan. Pero they also had a two-game winning streak so talagang overwhelming and nagpapasalamat kami,” he added.

The Cargo Movers, who won their first two games of the tournament, struggled against the Crossovers and were held to just 22 attacks compared to the opposing squad’s 54.

No player from F2 Logistics reached double digits in scoring with Myla Pablo scoring nine points while the pair of Aby Marano and Majoy Baron, who played her first game of the tournament, both had six points.
