JT Bulacan secured its second victory in the 2023-24 Pilipinas Super League President’s Cup by defeating Alpha Omega 72-58 at the Novadeci Convention Center on Saturday night.
Led by another impressive performance from Regie Tauto-An, who contributed 15 points, the Taipan turned the game around in the second period, outscoring their rivals 27-13 and steadily pulling ahead.
Tauto-An received solid support from Michael Are, who recorded 12 points, three rebounds, and five assists, and Francisco Tancioco, who added 10 points for the Taipan.
Despite being outrebounded by Alpha Omega 39-55 and trailing in bench scoring 29-44, the Taipan managed to secure the win.
They capitalized on fast breaks, earning 13 points more than their opponents, and forced the Kings into committing 23 turnovers, resulting in 22 points for JT Bulacan.
The Kings suffered their first loss after winning their initial two games, including a challenging match against the reigning champion, Davao Occidental.
Alpha Omega’s Charles Callano led the team with a double-double performance, contributing 16 points and 10 rebounds.
