PSL: Gimpayan, Cardona link up as Boracay silences Bulacan

Jaymar Gimpayan sizzled with 25 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists as Boracay hacked out a 78-74 victory over Koponang Lakan ng Bulacan last Monday night in the Manila Bankers Life-Pilipinas Super League Pro Division Second Conference Dumper Cup at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in Malolos.

Proving chief backup for the Islanders was former PBA star Mc Cardona, who scored 20 markers, grabbed seven boards, and issued two dimes as Boracay rebounded from a sorry 65-68 loss to Sta. Rosa Laguna last week and improved to 8-5 in the tourney presented by Dumper party-list, Winzir, and Skin Care Depot, co-presented by SCD Cosmetics, and supported by NET 25, Adcon, Wcube Solutions Inc., MDC, Unisol, Don Benitos, and Finn Cotton, with PBA and Gilas Pilipinas great Marc Pingris serving as Commissioner.

Bulacan, coming off a 52-69 setback at the hands of Pampanga Royce Hotel last Feb. 10, slipped to 8-5.

In the other game, Quezon City thumped Bagong Cabuyao-Homelab Nation 110-68 for its third straight win.

JK Casiño led the Beacons with 14 points, eight caroms and five feeds, while Monbert Arong chipped in 12 markers.

Mac Baracael, Chris Javier, Rhaffy Octubre, and Aaron Jeruta also had 11, 11, 10, and 10 points, respectively for QC, which climbed to 4-7.

Cabuyao stumbled to 1-11.

Leo Najorda paced Bulacan with 31 points, while Exequil Biteng and Agem Miranda added 12 and 10 markers, respectively.

Crispin Barnedo scored 16 points for Cabuyao, while Mark Bitoy got 11.
