PNVF hopes to get clearance for Subic NT tryouts

The Philippine National Volleyball Federation has begun identifying the players who will be invited to the national team pools of both the men’s and women’s indoor and beach national teams.

Though they have already penciled the date of the tryouts at April 28 for the women’s side and 29 for the men’s, it still pending approval from the Inter-Agency Task Force.

“[President] Tats (Suzara) and Dr. (Raul) Canlas went to Subic today and coming back tomorrow to talk with the Subic Bay Management Authority with regards to the health protocols for the tryouts,” national team commission head Tony Boy Liao said to Tiebreaker Times.

Liao added that the tryouts for indoor volleyball will be held at the Subic Bay Gymnasium while the sandcourt of the Subic Tennis Court will be the venue for beach volleyball.

PNVF will still have to follow the Joint Administrative Order set by the Department of Health, Philippine Sports Commission, and Games and Amusements Board.

Federation president Suzara, on the other hand, said that the list of invited players will be revealed on Tuesday.

The coaches of the national teams are Odjie Mamon (indoor women’s), Dante Alinsunurin (indoor men’s), Rhovyl Verayo (beach men’s), and Paul John Doloiras (beach women’s).

The national teams are set to prepare for the 31st Southeast Asian Games and Asian Volleyball Confederation tournaments.
