Pinoyliga: Hubilla makes UP debut as Maroons crush Enderun Titans for group lead


Chris Hubilla had a successful debut for University of the Philippines after securing a dominant 85-61 victory against Enderun College in Group Edge of the 2023 Pinoyliga Collegiate Cup on Sunday at the Emilio Aguinaldo Gymnasium.

The former San Beda Red Cub scored six points on 3-of-5 shooting from the field, in addition to grabbing four rebounds for UP.

Francis Lopez led the scoring for the Fighting Maroons with 13 points, five rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Meanwhile, Harold Alarcon contributed 11 points, two rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

Luis Pablo and Reyland Torres also scored nine points each for the Fighting Maroons, with Pablo adding five rebounds.

On the other hand, AJ Fransman was the only player for the Titans to reach double digits, recording 18 points, three rebounds, and four steals. Francis Guissani and Joshiel Gastador each contributed nine points.

UP now sits at the top spot with an unblemished 3-0 record. On the other hand, Enderun has dropped its third consecutive game.


In the lone Group Prime game, San Sebastian College-Recoletos defeated Philippine Christian University 88-68, getting back to winning ways.

Reggz Gabat led the charge for San Sebastian with 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and four steals, while his brother Ralph Gabat supported him with 14 points, two assists, and three steals.

James Una, Tristan Felebrico, and Rafael Are each contributed 10 points for the Golden Stags.

Meanwhile, Yanick Tizie guided the Dolphins with a double-double performance of 21 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and a steal. Jaddie Antonio and John Lloyd Balvarin both added 12 points.
