Bobby Mark Parks played his best game in the preseason so far, leading National University to a 70-64 win over Lyceum of the Philippines University in Group Prime of the 2023 Pinoyliga Collegiate Cup on Tuesday at the Enderun Gymnasium.
Parks was the only double-digit scorer for the 2-1 Bulldogs, contributing 15 points, a rebound, and a steal. Mohamed Diassana added eight points, six rebounds, two blocks, an assist, and a steal.
Meanwhile, Enoch Valdez paced the 2-3 Pirates with a double-double of 12 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and four steals, while Vincent Cunanan scored 15 points, grabbed four rebounds, and dished out seven assists.
In the Group Edge games, Emilio Aguinaldo College overcame San Beda University, 91-86, to secure the lead, while Far Eastern University spoiled Enderun College’s debut with a 73-58 win.
EAC improved its record to 3-1, handing San Beda its second straight loss in as many games. FEU’s record went up to 2-1.
King Gurtiza led the scoring for the Generals with 14 points, five assists, two rebounds, three steals, and one block.
Joshua Tolentino scored five of his nine points in the fourth quarter, putting the Generals in control. He also contributed three rebounds and four assists.
Ralph Robin and Ruzzelle Dominguez both contributed 13 points, with Dominguez adding three rebounds for EAC.
Mohamed Konateh had a double-double performance of 16 points, 10 rebounds, four blocks, an assist, and a steal, leading the Morayta-based school. Cholo Anoneuvo provided support with 10 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
Luke Felipe and Keaton Taburnal each scored eight points as well for the Tamaraws.
On the other hand, AJ Royo spearheaded the Red Lions with 19 points, four rebounds, five assists, and a steal. Richi Calimag contributed 17 points, while Zane Jalbuena and Bryan Sajonia each scored 13 points. Bismarck Lina chipped in with 11 points as well for the Red Lions.
Only two players scored in double-digits for the Titans, with Roy Castro recording 12 points, five assists, and two rebounds, while Hans Delos Reyes had 11 points and three steals.
