Everyone was in awe of Stanley Pringle’s scoring spree against the Columbian Dyip, Friday evening. Social media exploded – making Stanley Pringle the number two trend in the country – fans inside the SMART Araneta Coliseum buzzed, and the Globalport Batang Pier bench was ecstatic.
Pringle dropped 50 points on 60 percent shooting and knocking down nine triples in the contest.
And no one was more impressed than his coach Pido Jarencio.
“Tonight was Stanley’s show. He got nine three-points, tapos 50 points,” beamed Jarencio.
“Parang ako lang nung college. Dati ako 48 points, siya 50,” the light-hearted mentor quipped.
During his collegiate days with the University of Santo Tomas Glowing Goldies, Jarencio – known as the Fireman – was the man.
Caidic fired 46 points, while UST’s Jarencio scored 48 points in Game Three of the UAAP Season 47 Finals, which the Red Warriors won, 112-99.
Though he has had his moments before, Friday night was Pringle’s night.
Once Pringle arrived in the press room, Jarencio left the stage. But before he did, he had something to say to his prized guard.
“Good job my man!,” Jarencio told Pringle.
“Take over, it’s your turn.”
