Pia Ducanes of Pasig City claimed the gold medal in the Batang Pinoy 2025 Cadet Girls Singles (14–15 years old) table tennis event at the Lagao Gym in General Santos City.
Ducanes dominated the championship match, defeating Erich Bianca Torzar of Quezon, 12–14, 11–6, 11–4, 11–5, to emerge as the top player among the 108 competitors in the tournament.
She swept Group 10 with wins over Samantha Guevarra of General Santos City and Faith Ayanna Vicedo of Antique.
After a first-round bye, Ducanes began the knockout stage with a straight-sets victory over Princess Clea Peria of Valenzuela, 11–7, 11–1, 11–7, followed by a win against Ylianna Jane Rodriguez of La Carlota City, 11–9, 11–13, 11–3, 11–8.
In the round of 16, Ducanes battled past Nina Irish Dimailig of Quezon City in five sets, 11–8, 7–11, 11–5, 7–11, 11–9, keeping her gold medal hopes alive.
She then defeated Maria Justine Angelli Cruz of San Fernando, Pampanga, 11–2, 5–11, 11–5, 11–8, in the quarterfinals, and Khristren Star Villegas of Tarlac City, 13–11, 11–9, 9–11, 11–6, in the semifinals.
Villegas and Sheirel Denise Siaboc of Quezon both secured bronze medals thanks to their semifinal finishes in the tournament.
