Davao Occidental-Cocolife has let go of its rock for the last four years.
The Tigers have announced that do-it-all player Billy Ray Robles has signed with Phoenix Super LPG.
Fuel Masters team manager Paolo Bugia also confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times.
Robles, 29, went undrafted in the 2016 PBA Rookie Draft. Still, he was signed to a contract by Rain or Shine, which was then handled by Caloy Garcia — his head coach in the PBA D-League when he played for Racal.
The 6-foot utility player played just six games for Rain or Shine.
In 2018, Robles moved to the Chooks-to-Go MPBL, playing for Davao Occidental.
It was in the MPBL where he earned the moniker “Ilonggo Superman” with his athleticism and daredevil plays.
Robles would lead the Tigers to the Datu Cup Finals. A season later, he helped lift the team to the top in the Lakan Cup with norms of 10.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.9 blocks per contest.
Phoenix, currently 3-2 in the standings, is still reeling from losing Chris Banchero to Meralco.
Robles will make his Phoenix debut against TNT on Sunday.
