PHISGOC chairman Alan Peter Cayetano announced on Friday that tickets for 53 events in the 30th Southeast Asian Games will be of free admission.
This, following calls recently to make all the games even more accessible to the public.
More known events such as basketball, football, and volleyball, though, will still require ticket purchase.
Basketball will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Football games are played at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium and the Biñan Football Stadium, while volleyball is set to be held at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
Cayetano, who’s also the House Speaker, said that the mechanics of giving out tickets will be announced soon.
The report added that President Rodrigo Duterte himself has told PHISGOC to dish out 10,000 free tickets for the SEA Games’ closing ceremonies at the 20,000-seater athletics stadium in New Clark City in Tarlac on December 11.
