Moonton awards M5 World Championship hosting to Philippines

At long last, the undisputed top country in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will finally get its much-deserved shot of hosting the scene’s most prestigious tournament.

The Philippines is set to host the M5 World Championship this December, MOONTON Games announced a few moments before the start of the M4 World Championship grand finals – which features two Filipino teams – at the Tennis Indoor Stadium Senayan, Sunday night.

This is the country’s first time hosting the M-series despite winning the last three of the last four world championships. The M4 World Championship is also the second consecutive time that two Filipino teams will dispute the M-series crown.

“We’re more excited that the next M5 will be in the Philippines. We’re really excited to give you the best hospitality of the Filipinos. So see you guys in M5 in the Philippines,” said Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino.

The last time that the Philippines hosted a major ML:BB event was in 2018 (MSC) and 2019 (30th SEA Games).

So far, the Philippines has won almost every significant ML:BB event such as the M2 World Championship (Bren Esports), the 2021 MSC (Execration), the M3 World Championship (Blacklist International), the 2022 MSC (RSG PH), the M4 World Championship (Blacklist International or ECHO), as well as the 30th and 31st Southeast Asian Games.
