The Philippine men’s national floorball team finished in second place in the 2022 Men’s Floorball World Championship Qualification Tournament to advance into the main tournament, Saturday at the OCBC Arena in Singapore.
The Nationals secured its second consecutive berth in the Worlds after topping Group A of pool play, ending it with a 4-2 win over Australia on Thursday.
Thailand, which ended in first in the other group, won the final of the qualifiers over the Philippines at 6-4 to end the tournament unscathed with a t4-0 win-loss record en route to another Worlds berth.
The Philippines earlier escaped past South Korea, 3-2, and walloped Japan, 10-4, before completing the 3-0 sweep against the Australians.
Australia and Singapore join the two squads in representing the Asia Oceania Floorball Confederation in the Worlds, set for November this year in Zurich, Switzerland.
Forwards of the team are Rhodell Esguerra, Patrik Schoultze, Lucas Werelius, Christian Schoultze, Fredrik Escabel, Melvin Alm Mendoza, Kim Varga Franz, Mattiece Myllyperkio, and Russel Alido.
The defensemen are Ludvig Porral, Lucas Perez, Alexander De Chavez, Christofer Holland, Ryan Cater, Fredrik Cantos, and Simon Andersson while the goalkeepers are Patrik Nessbo and Victor Lindberg.
Noel Johansson is the team’s head coach while Roger Jonsson serves as team manager.
