Still reeling from losing Ria Meneses in the off-season, Petro Gazz is hoping to find a diamond in the rough.
The Angels have signed 5-foot-9 middle blocker Yeye Gabarda for the upcoming 2022 Premier Volleyball League season.
“Here’s to another tall reliable middle blocker in the industry,” read the team’s announcement.
Gabarda, 23, is a product of University of the East.
She previously played for Generika-Ayala before transferring to PLDT last season.
Gabarda joins Cienne Cruz, Djanel Cheng, Jonah Sabete, and Nicole Tiamzon as the latest pickups of Petro Gazz.
Besides Meneses, the Angels lost Kath Arado, Ces Molina, Jerrili Malabanan, Alina Bicar, Ivy Perez, Mean Mendrez, Jessey De Leon, and Rica Enclona in the off-season.
PLDT, meanwhile, is heading for a reboot after a disappointing Open Conference campaign.
