University of Perpetual Help System Dalta is set to honor one of its most successful alumni, Scottie Thompson, in a special ceremony during its 48th Foundation Day celebration.
Thompson, who is a basketball star for the Barangay Ginebra team and a member of Gilas Pilipinas, will have his No. 6 jersey retired by the university.
Thompson, who was the MVP of NCAA Season 88 and the reigning MVP of the PBA, played for Perpetual Help Altas from 2011 to 2015 under coach Aric Del Rosario.
The All-Star Game on February 16 at the Home of the Altas Gymnasium II in Las Pinas will be the centerpiece of the celebration, with Thompson leading the Team Stars against the Rising Stars squad, headlined by vlogger Kyt Jimenez of the Davao Occidental Tigers.
Along with Thompson, the roster of Team Stars includes players like Ronald Sy, Milo Bonifacio, Harold Arboleda, Chester Saldua, Chester Tolomia, and Jon Yuhico, among others.
The Rising Stars lineup features John Cedrick Abis, Jerry Andaleon, Joey Barcuma, Alwin Manalang, Eric Ramirez, and Joshua Rodriguez, among others.
The All-Star Game is just one of many events taking place during the university’s 48th Foundation Week, which is themed “Funtastic@48: Wholistic Approach Towards Excellence and Resurgence.” Other activities include a Mass Wedding of employees, a Battle of the Bands, and the Mr. and Ms. University pageant.
The university community is expected to come together to celebrate its rich history and achievements, and to honor those who have contributed to its success.
