PBA Triple Header: 3 games on Tuesday as Saturday provincial tiff cancelled due to super typhoon

With Super Typhoon Ruby expected to sweep the Visayas and Mindanao regions on Saturday, the scheduled game between Purefoods and Barako Bull has been reset to Tuesday.

This means that the PBA will have a scheduled triple header for the first time in years. The PBA Commissioner’s Office confirmed this development on Thursday.

“The Office of the Commissioner is cancelling the PBA’s out-of-town game in Dipolog City on Saturday due to the adverse weather conditions expected to be caused by super typhoon Ruby over the weekend,” wrote PBA commissioner Chito Salud in a text message.

“Zamboanga del Norte has been identified by PAGASA to be one of the critical areas that may be severely [affected] by the intense winds (of at least 205 kph) and vast rainclouds of the super typhoon.”

Because of this development, the game between the Hotshots and the Energy will be moved to Tuesday, 2 p.m.
Blackwater and San Miguel Beer will collide at 4:15 p.m. while GlobalPort will take on Meralco at 7 p.m.
