The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) on Thursday announced that the Season 47 Rookie Draft will take place on May 15.
In line with that, the league will start accepting applications on March 21.
The deadline for submission, on the other hand, is on May 2.
Local applicants will only need to submit a copy of their birth certificates, while Fil-foreign players are required to submit a valid passport.
The PBA has already done away with the Bureau of Immigration Certificate of Recognition and the Department of Justice’s Affirmation.
Those papers take some time to acquire especially amidst the pandemic, the reason why a number of Fil-foreigners got disqualified in the last draft.
The Annual Draft is open to players who are 22 years old and above, or 19 years of age with a minimum of two years of college education.
Talents expected to headline the class of 2022 are Fil-Ams Jason Brickman, Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, and Jeremiah Gray.
The three were among those who were unfortunately not included in the final list of applicants for failing to submit the aforementioned papers on time.
Brickman has been tearing it up with Kaohsiung in Taiwan’s T1 league, while Ganuelas-Rosser and Gray have starred in the PBA 3×3.
