Converge assistant coach Danny Ildefonso was summoned and fined by the PBA on Tuesday for his “farm team” comments on social media recently.
The cage legend appeared before Commissioner Willie Marcial shortly after the FiberXers’ 96-95 victory over TNT at the SMART Araneta Coliseum, where Scotty Hopson buried a four to lift themselves to 2-1 in the Governors’ Cup.
There, he was asked to explain his comments on Facebook, which were about the contract situation of his son, Dave, with NorthPort.
As of this posting, the fifth overall pick of the Season 49 Draft has yet to put pen to paper on the Batang Pier’s offer of a two-year max deal.
A two-time PBA MVP, Ildefonso has been made to pay P20,000 for statements detrimental to the league, Marcial told reporters moments after their talk.
“Tinanong ko kung ano nangyari, nadala lang siya ng emotions doon sa mga nakikita niyang post din ng netizen,” shared the amiable executive.
“Hindi mo maiaalis, anak niya ‘yun. Ang sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Ganyan talaga.’ Kasama sa trabaho ‘yan. So kailangan talaga relax lang.”
