The Philippine Basketball Association has donated personal protective equipment to Pasig City.
Vice mayor Iyo Bernardo received the PPEs for use of the frontliners working at Pasig City Children’s Hospital, Pasig City General Hospital, and the Rizal Medical Center.
The league posted photos of Bernardo receiving the PPEs at the PBA office in Libis — as well as him handing it out to the mentioned hospitals — in its official Twitter account on Saturday.
“Salamat po sa pagkakataong makatulong, Pasig City,” Asia’s pioneering pro league tweeted.
The PBA also thanked Gilette, Alaska, Barangay Ginebra, Blackwater, Columbian Dyip, Magnolia, Meralco, NLEX, NorthPort, Phoenix, Rain or Shine, TNT and San Miguel for their support.
Last April 8, the league’s board of governors has decided to donate PHP one-million worth of PPEs for the frontliners.
“The board has decided to donate one-million pesos worth of PPEs,” Commissioner Willie Marcial said then.
“Ako ang maghahanap ng gagawa ng PPEs, at i-do-donate namin ito doon sa mas mga nangangailangan.”
