PBA D-League: Arthur Roque shows way anew as Perpetual crushes AMA for solo lead

University of Perpetual Help System Dalta steamrolled AMA Online with a lopsided 101-57 win to claim the solo lead in the 2023 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup, Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Altas caught fire right off the bat with a searing 25-10 start and never stepped on the breaks since then to score the biggest win this conference thus far and improve at 2-0 atop of the 7-team tilt.

Perpetual hardly encountered any resistance from the Titans highlighted by a massive 94-47 lead in the last four minutes for the biggest lead of the game.

“We’re happy to get this second consecutive win. Tinatrabaho lang nga boys kung ano ‘yung ineensayo namin. Actually, it’s the first game of AMA so hindi namin alam i-expect pero buti nag-materalize,” said Altas coach Myk Saguiguit.

Fresh off a 27-point debut against PSP, Arthur Roque continued his hot start with another all-around play of 17 points, seven rebounds, two assists, three steals, and two blocks in only 13 minutes of action.

Twelve more Altas hit the scoring rack with Christian Pagaran firing 16 points. Richard Movida had 14 while Joey Barcoma, Joshua Ramirez, and Carlo Ferreras threw in 10 apiece.

Catapulted by a sizzling start, Perpetual cruised to a 51-25 at the break and held the driver seat comfortably en route to its second straight win.

Skipper Nikon Alina, with 12 points and six rebounds, was the only bright spot for the wards of coach Mark Herrera.
