PBA 3×3: TNT sends Ginebra packing to open back-to-back bid


TNT once again stood in the path of Ginebra and secured a hard-earned 18-17 victory, sending the Kings to an early exit in Leg 4 of the PBA 3×3 First Conference Season 3 on Monday at the Ayala Mall Circuit.

Almond Vosotros shot 4-of-8 from the field for seven points, while Ping Exciminiano added 5 points in the Triple Giga victory that placed them on top of Pool A alongside Meralco.

Earlier, the Bolts dealt the Kings a 19-15 beating, causing the winner of Legs 1 and 2 to formally bow out with a 0-2 record.

Just a week ago, TNT denied Ginebra a possible third straight leg championship by eliminating the Kings in the quarterfinals, 21-19.

The Triple Giga, winners of last week’s leg, and the Bolts are battling it out for the top spot in their group.

San Miguel and Cavitex wasted no time advancing to the next round as well.

The Beermen and Braves tallied two wins each, sharing the top spot in Pool C and securing their places in the quarterfinals.

San Miguel defeated Purefoods, 21-13, and Terrafirma, 21-19, while Cavitex edged out Terrafirma, 18-16, and Purefoods, 19-18.

As of press time, the two teams are competing for the top spot in their group, while the Titans and Dyip are disputing the remaining playoffs berth in the same bracket.

Wilcon Depot also boasts a 2-0 record following victories over Blackwater, 14-13, and Northport, 18-14, leading the way in Pool B.

Pioneer (0-1), Blackwater (0-1), and Northport (1-1) are all still in contention for a place in the quarterfinals.
