PBA 3×3 moves out of Robinsons, to hold games at Ayala Malls

PBA 3×3 has found a new home.

The league has partnered up with Ayala Malls to hold its games beginning July 3-4 at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay to start off the third season.

Commissioner Willie Marcial confirmed the development Thursday, adding that staging the upcoming tilt entirely in the mall chain is being considered as well.

The two entities’ collaboration is no longer new. They linked up for the first PBA Esports Bakbakan that concluded last May at Ayala Malls Circuit Makati.

“Matagal na rin nila tayong gusto,” Marcial told Tiebreaker Times.

Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 had been holding their FIBA 3×3-sanctioned competitions at Ayala Malls as well.

With this, PBA 3×3 is now moving on from Robinsons Malls, which hosted its games from the first season’s Third Conference to the end of last season.

Still, Marcial has nothing but gratitude to their previous partner.

“Nagpaalam naman tayo, at talagang nagpapasalamat ako sa Robinsons,” he said.

Eleven teams are set to see action in Season 3, with the league’s winningest club TNT Triple Giga bannering the field.

Also seeing action in the halfcourt league are Ginebra, San Miguel Beer, Purefoods, Terrafirma, NorthPort, Meralco, and CAVITEX.

Competing as guest teams, meanwhile, are Pioneer Elastoseal and newcomer Wilcon Depot, whose core is made up of the Platinum Karaoke nucleus.
