PBA 3×3: Limitless continues to roll, ends Leg 4 Day 1 with 3-0 slate

Limitless outplayed San Miguel, 21-15, to wrest early leadership in the PBA 3×3 Second Conference’s Leg 4, Saturday at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

Brandon Rosser led the way with 11 points as the Appmasters earned their third win in as many games to sit atop Pool A and book a quarterfinal slot. They beat Master Sardines (21-12) and NorthPort (21-14) earlier.

Marvin Hayes contributed six points and eight rebounds. Jorey Napoles added three, including the game-winning deuce with 51.7 seconds left.

The third leg champions have now won 10 straight games, dating back to their battle for third victory in Leg 2. They can sweep their way into the quarters and lock the top seed against CAVITEX (1-2) tomorrow at 3:15 p.m.

Jeff Manday led the Beermen with 11 points in the loss that dropped them to second in the pool with a 2-1 card. The second leg rulers will battle another 2-1 team in Master tomorrow at 2 p.m. in an attempt to be in a better position.

Also headed into the quarters are Platinum Karaoke, who came from behind and beat Pioneer Pro Tibay, 21-20, to lead Pool B with a 2-0 card.

Ael Banal top-scored with eight points while veteran big man Yutien Andrada made six, none bigger than his shot off a post-up that completed the perennial contenders’ rally from a 16-20 deficit with 2:26 remaining in the game.

Platinum, who’s coming off its worst finish to date in the previous leg, will look to go 3-0 against the winless Sista (0-2) tomorrow at 2:25 p.m.

Pioneer was led by the eight points of Carlo De Chavez in the defeat, which gave them a 1-1 card in the standings. Up next for them will be TNT in a tiebreaking match-up as both teams are sporting identical records.

Meralco, lastly, assured itself of a spot in the next round as well by downing Purefoods, 20-16, to top Pool C with a 2-0 record.

Tonino Gonzanga bannered the Bolts’ assault with 10 points. Dexter Maiquez chipped in seven markers, as Alfred Batino scored two.

Meralco will face the 1-1 Ginebra tomorrow at 2:50 p.m. The Gin Kings bowed to Terrafirma earlier before defeating the Tender Juicy Titans.

Joseph Eriobu had 10 points to lead Purefoods, who will try to salvage at least a chance for the playoff against the Dyip 1-1 tomorrow at 4:05 p.m.
