Paranaque swept its assignments this weekend to take the lead in the National Basketball League (NBL) Season 2.
The reigning champion Aces defeated the Zamboanga Valientes, 71-65, at their homecourt last Saturday at the Olivarez College Gym, before winning over the Taguig Generals in double overtime, 87-83, last Sunday at the Hagonoy Sports Complex to get first place in the team standings with a 3-0 win-loss record.
Noy Bermudez and JR Galit had 11 and 10 points each, while Rems Arce chipped in nine points and eight rebounds in the Aces’ win over the Valientes in the league for homegrown talents being shown nationwide on Basketball TV and overseas on GMA News TV International.
Galit led the Aces in the victory over the Generals when he scored a team-high 16 points and eight rebounds.
In other results, Terrence Tumalip had 18 points as Iriga City Oragons claimed their second win in as many games with a 76-73 win over the Nueva Ecija Rice Makers.
Shin Manacsa had 23 points as the Laguna Pistons nailed their first win in two tries after beating the CamSur Express in overtime, 95-83.
